Fargo Rocks The Movie

David Meiers Bio:

Creator, writer, producer, director, David Meiers was born in Fargo, ND on June 18, 1952. He has two Bachelor of Science degrees from North Dakota State University: Speech and Interpersonal Communications (English minor) and Social Sciences II Education (English minor-again) and is a lifelong North Dakota native. Meiers is the author of “From Mott to May-Port”, a 36 year history of the North Dakota State Boys Class B Basketball tournament written in 1997 and was a writer and creative consultant for the Prairie Public Television documentary, “One Shining Moment” which was also about the Class B tournament and was nominated for a regional Public Broadcasting Emmy in the historical documentary category in 2001. Meiers lives in Fargo with his wife and two children and “Fargo Rocks” is his first attempt at film making.

Director’s Statement:

“I took on this project because I knew the subject matter was good. I didn’t realize how good until the project began to unfold and I saw and experienced how good the music and the stories truly were.”

Anecdotal Material:

“Fargo Rocks” tells the story of a music scene so vibrant and strong that Bob Dylan was let go from not one, but two different bands in the summer of 1959.
